Can I play Japanese video games and consoles in my country?
To use Japanese game software, you will usually need a Japanese game console or a compatible console with some kind of converter or adapter in order to use it. All of our listed items are the Japanese version. A few consoles are region free and games are compatible worldwide on those systems. (Gameboy is one example). Game consoles need to be powered correctly in order for them to work safely and properly. You may require a power-step converter in order to use a Japanese game console in your country. Please confirm this with your local power company before purchasing anything from Retro Game City. You will also need a TV/Monitor that is capable of displaying the NTSC video signal that is output from Japanese games. Please check the compatibility of your TV/Monitor before purchasing. We recommend doing plenty of research on how to make the best of your Japanese gaming experience before purchasing any items from us. What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards, and PayPal. Payment can be made through our secure checkout.
Will I be charge import taxes or other charges?
All products are shipped from Japan via Japan Post. Registered Shipping methods have a tracking number. Shipping methods to some countries do not have a tracking number but do include a customs unique ID barcode.
We pack items well with bubble wrap and use sturdy cardboard shipping boxes when needed.
Shipping times can vary from one week to about one to two months depending on the shipping method, destination, customs checks and postal delays.
Can I get a refund?
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.
Is there a guarantee on used products?
A refund may be available if you purchase an item from us and it does not match the description in our stores item description. In this case, you are welcome to return the item to us for a refund. After we receive the item and it has been checked, we can then process your refund for the item in question. Please choose carefully when making your purchase as we cannot accept returns on items because someone bought the wrong item or has decided that they have changed their mind.
How do you ship parcels?
Yes. Items are guaranteed for 30 days from the date of purchase. We will accept returns for used items purchased within a 30 day period that have been deemed defective by us.
Do you offer express shipping?
All parcels are packed professionally and with care. We use quality shipping boxes with bubble wrap and other good packing materials when needed. Sometime envelopes will be used but always with a good amount of bubble wrap, and only for smaller less delicate items . All items ship from Japan via either Japan Post or UPS (depending on the size and weight of the parcel) within 3 business days.
Yes, but only to certain regions around the world. EMS express shipping is available by request to certain countries. For some items it is the standard shipping method and will be mentioned in the product listing details. It usually takes around 5-7 days to most locations around the world depending on postal delays and customs checks.
